Introductory Soap Making Workshop

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: This class is a hands-on soap making class, which means you will be creating your very own batch of soap! In this workshop, you will learn how to make soap safely and confidently. To gain confidence, I will demonstrate how to make a batch of soap before you create your own! During this time, snacks and drinks will be provided! This introductory class will cover ingredients, safety procedures, and steps on how to make cold-processed soap. This workshop will take approximately 2.5-3 hours. The batch of soap will include 12 bars scented with your choice of essential oil/fragrance, perfect for gifts for the holidays or keeping for yourself! After this class you will be a soap-maker!

OUTLINE OF CLASS:

-Safety procedures

-Go over instructions on process of making soap

-Instructor demonstration on process of making soap

-Learn what tools will be used for

-Learn take home instructions and how to cut soap with tools from home

TAKE HOME: You will be bringing home the mold you make your first batch of soap in, the 12 bars of soap inside the mold, and hand-out instructions on how to make your next batch at home!

AGE LIMIT: 15+ (15-18 year old need a paid adult to accompany the teen to this class) This is due to using sodium hydroxide (lye) to create the hard bars of soap.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Full refund issued up to 7 days prior to class. If something comes up between the 7 days prior to the instructions, ask around to find a replacement for your spot, and please inform us.
